Tic-Tac Toes: The Dark Knight Rises (and other updates)

So... first let me start off by saying that what happened in Colorado was absolutely terrible. The families of the injured and dead will continue to be in my prayers.

Well, the day after The Dark Knight Rises came out, I took a little trip out to Tomball to see the final movie of the Chris Nolan trilogy with Jesse. Before I rave about the movie and how awesome it was... let me at least try to convey how adorable the theatre was. It's cowboy themed. I know, totally cute. I drove up and literally the first thing I said was "AHAHA HOW FRIGGIN ADORABLE IS THIS PLACE?!" The theatre had a Rough Rider Bar and the Cowboy Grill. I kid you not.

So, I pulled up, parked, got our tickets and waited for Jesse to arrive. We had an hour to kill before the movie, so we saddled up at the Rough Rider Bar and downed a pitcher of beer.

The movie itself was fantastic. I don't want to give away any spoilers, although I think most of y'all have seen it by now... but it was beyond... just, WOW. There were moments where the two of us were like "Shut the ---- up!"and "No way!" and "Holy crap!". Granted, we were intoxicated, so our reactions to all the twists and turns and surprises were exaggerated and alcohol-fueled. I admit, we'll have to see it again to re-watch the first few minutes we missed due to having to get up twice to go to the bathroom. Stupid beer...

Here's looking forward to another movie day before I leave to Kingsville. With beer. Beer just brings out the best in the two of us. And by best, I mean ridiculous.

So, Tuesday... Beeks and I went to Miller Outdoor Theatre with her SAYA group for a showing of Casablanca! I was surprised at how many people hadn't seen it... how could you miss out on a classic like that?! Well, we showed up with cookies and got some refreshments before parking our butts on the grass. I was very pleasantly surprised at the arrival of the newlywed Gibulas! I hadn't seen Billy and Renee since they graduated from UD, so I was most excited to see them :)

During the movie, a duo of disgusting rats kept popping up in an attempt to steal snacks. Thankfully, a group of girls close to where the rats were appearing kept us safe by throwing shoes and other projectiles to keep them at bay. After the movie, I thanked them for their service. I HATE vermin. After Becky and I returned to the apartment, I drove home and sunk into my bed for a night of delightful sleep.

I recall that the Thursday before I saw TDKR, Becky and I got our fitness on by going for our walk down Newcastle. Well, this time we walked further than we had gone last time and we stumbled upon a park! Fun was had :)

Tomorrow my friends Cody and Michael come into town for the Nicki Minaj concert on Saturday! Be sure to look out for many MANY photos next week :)

Well, Narvaezes, hope all is well with y'all and I will post about the weekend once it's all said and done!

"OMG!!! You're on the front page!"

Thanks, Nisi :)

She's right, though...

Movement-detecting leads are SO en vogue this season

What was more awkward was them actually taking the photos... running up and down the stairs, hopping up and down the stairs, exercising in the middle of the woods when it's a billion degrees outside...

If you have the chance, check out this link and think about donating funds for Dr. Slaughter's research in fall-prevention. It's a good thing:

4th of July Memories: WE COULD'VE HAD IT ALL!

For your viewing pleasure :)

Enjoy :)

Summer 2012 Part 2

So it's been WAY too long since I've updated. All of June and the first 12 days of July I've not written anything!

So... June. Hmm.

June 2nd I went to the wedding of my neighbor Stephen and his lady Bethany. They've been together since the St. Agnes/St. Thomas days so it was lovely to see their relationship evolve yet again. It was a beautiful ceremony and the reception was awesome :)

June 8th Becky and I saw The Room with our friend Kerry and her brother and his friend. We had a wonderful time! It's always a fun time at The Room. ONE! TWO! AHH, SCREW IT!

June 9th Beeks and I went all over the place haha
(1) St. Agnes 5 Year Reunion... we saw all our old friends and took a tour around the new parts of the school. It was lovely seeing Sister Jane again! I love me some Sister Jane...
(2) Class of 2007 Dinner... following the reunion, the girls from 2007 gathered in Midtown for happy hour: booze and dinner. I loved catching up with my friends. However, we were rather rushed as we had to leave...
(3) Katy and Linny's Graduation Party! We met up at the Holton House and from there went to a cool bar in League City. It was dockside with sand, a big Jenga set, and swings! Me, Beeks, James, and Nick hung out most of the evening and I definitely enjoyed myself.

I don't really recall the events between then and now... but I recall the following:

(1) Making Star Wars Cookies Pt. 1: vehicles
(2) Going to Hefley's with Becky in Midtown with her softball friends
(3) Going to see BRAVE with Becky and her Mommy and having a wonderful time at lunch and home watching Judge Judy "She don't play around"... OH this took place the same day (before) Hefley's...
(4) Pery visiting Houston for a week - much shopping and arts n crafting going on :)
(5) 4th of July in San Antonio
(6) Making Star Wars Cookies Pt. 2: characters
(7) Drinks and almost bowling with Becky, Jesse, Joseph, and Vince
(8) TODAY: Seeing Magic Mike with Katie... WHAT HAPPENED? You missed it! He gets his degree... REALLY?! Yeah... aerospace. I WAS GONE FOR TWO SECONDS! (drunk women are hilarious)

Well, that's about it for now. I ought to go to sleep sometime soon :) Til next time!
