Well, the day after The Dark Knight Rises came out, I took a little trip out to Tomball to see the final movie of the Chris Nolan trilogy with Jesse. Before I rave about the movie and how awesome it was... let me at least try to convey how adorable the theatre was. It's cowboy themed. I know, totally cute. I drove up and literally the first thing I said was "AHAHA HOW FRIGGIN ADORABLE IS THIS PLACE?!" The theatre had a Rough Rider Bar and the Cowboy Grill. I kid you not.
So, I pulled up, parked, got our tickets and waited for Jesse to arrive. We had an hour to kill before the movie, so we saddled up at the Rough Rider Bar and downed a pitcher of beer.
The movie itself was fantastic. I don't want to give away any spoilers, although I think most of y'all have seen it by now... but it was beyond... just, WOW. There were moments where the two of us were like "Shut the ---- up!"and "No way!" and "Holy crap!". Granted, we were intoxicated, so our reactions to all the twists and turns and surprises were exaggerated and alcohol-fueled. I admit, we'll have to see it again to re-watch the first few minutes we missed due to having to get up twice to go to the bathroom. Stupid beer...
Here's looking forward to another movie day before I leave to Kingsville. With beer. Beer just brings out the best in the two of us. And by best, I mean ridiculous.
So, Tuesday... Beeks and I went to Miller Outdoor Theatre with her SAYA group for a showing of Casablanca! I was surprised at how many people hadn't seen it... how could you miss out on a classic like that?! Well, we showed up with cookies and got some refreshments before parking our butts on the grass. I was very pleasantly surprised at the arrival of the newlywed Gibulas! I hadn't seen Billy and Renee since they graduated from UD, so I was most excited to see them :)
During the movie, a duo of disgusting rats kept popping up in an attempt to steal snacks. Thankfully, a group of girls close to where the rats were appearing kept us safe by throwing shoes and other projectiles to keep them at bay. After the movie, I thanked them for their service. I HATE vermin. After Becky and I returned to the apartment, I drove home and sunk into my bed for a night of delightful sleep.
I recall that the Thursday before I saw TDKR, Becky and I got our fitness on by going for our walk down Newcastle. Well, this time we walked further than we had gone last time and we stumbled upon a park! Fun was had :)
Tomorrow my friends Cody and Michael come into town for the Nicki Minaj concert on Saturday! Be sure to look out for many MANY photos next week :)
Well, Narvaezes, hope all is well with y'all and I will post about the weekend once it's all said and done!
